Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy

What to Expect

During your initial consultation your physiotherapist will discuss your medical history and concerns. They will then perform a comprehensive assessment (potentially a vaginal examination if deemed necessary) to determine the best course of treatment.

Treatment may include

  • Education about pelvic floor anatomy and function

  • Exercises to strengthen and retrain the pelvic floor muscles

  • Biofeedback to improve muscle awareness

  • Manual therapy

  • Electrical stimulation

Conditions we commonly treat

  • Incontinence (urine or bowel)

  • Prolapse

  • Pelvic pain (such as endometriosis, vulvodynia, vaginismus etc )

  • Diastasis recti (abdominal separation)

  • Pre- and postnatal care

  • Sexual dysfunction

  • Menopause care
